Project #5 Anti-Surveillance Tool

Description

For the fifth project, we are using principles of steganography to encode a secret message that is hidden under plain sight. I want to show the context of standing up for yourself and what are you waiting for.

Design Process

The project idea coming from the unfairness all over the world, and it is time to stand up yourself, and stand up for ourselves. The receiver are everyone around the world, who is suffering all kinds of unfairness, from bullying to domestic violence, from unfairness to injustice. We have seen enough, and it is time to take actions. As soon as I saw the newspaper of a Tibetan girl named Ram, who was burned by her ex-husband intentionally in , and after 16 days of suffering and torturing, she passed away. I was shocked and heartbroken by this, what if Ram didn’t endure the torture and forbearer the violence of her ex-husband which have led to this situation? What if Ram stood up for herself for once? What were she waiting for?

Reflection

It is important to voice it out and stand up for yourself.

I want to bring that tension and blurriness into the text because whenever people say something to stand up for themselves, there will always be negative comments or voice to slow you down or stopping you from achieving your goals. Just like the blurring effects I created, every time you click and drag mouse, is just like someone saying negative things, which makes you unclear about your goal and you start to hide the context that tells you to stand up. The more click and drag, the more you are fading into the digital word, affected by the hurtful comments or judgments.

When people are facing these unfairness situation, they would accept it in silence without voice it out due to the fact that they think it is embarrassing or they will be humiliated by others. Imagine a volcano not being able to burst out and when it eventually does, it’s a storm of a lifetime. Indeed, not many people have communication skills to be transparent when an issue arise. However, kindness always pays, everyone should be nice to each other. When one opens their heart and others shit on it that’s when it’s the time to learn to stand up for yourself and communicate, and do not wait for the last second, otherwise you are putting yourself in danger.
